Indoor Air CleanersWhy are Indoor Air Cleaners important today?
- Awareness of the hazards of contaminated indoor air is increasing.
- The EPA classifies indoor air quality as the number one air pollution problem today.
- The EPA has noted that indoor air is 2 to 58 times, and as high as 100 times, more polluted than outdoor air.
- News reports about asthma, allergies, sinus problems, mold sick building syndrome appear frequently in the media.
- Allergies afflict one out of every three people and indoor air quality is being blamed.
- Asthma has increased threefold in the last twenty years and is now the leading cause of death in young children.
- Mold is an increasingly important health hazard. The mayo clinic reports that almost all sinus problems are caused by airborne mold toxins.
- Chemicals in common household products are triggering cases of Multiple Chemical Syndrome.
Moldex has wanted to add an air cleaner for our customers because of all the requests we’ve been receiving. After researching the market and looking at many manufactures we decided on the AllerAir with their true HEPA filters and charcoal filter systems. AllerAir High Efficiency air cleaners have been sold to the Mayo clinic, John Hopkins University and the US Army.
Compared to other Carbon and HEPA air cleaners, AllerAir offers More Features, More Options at Less Cost
Important Design Features Exclusive to AllerAir:
- The housing is powder-coated steel. Most off the shelf air cleaners are plastic and may emit plastic vapors.
- The motors are American made. The power consumption is lower than the off-shore motors used in most air cleaners. The savings are hundreds of dollars over the life of the unit.
- The motors are sealed and have minimal varnish on the windings, which prevents off gassing of harmful vapors.
- The filters are sealed with glueless felt gaskets to maximize filtration. Most air cleaners have glued rubber gaskets, which may cause emissions of harmful vapors and rubber odors.
- The carbon and HEPA filters are separate and can be changed at different intervals. This lowers operating costs.
- True HEPA filters traps 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns.
- Activated carbon adsorbs noxious gases and odors and mold mycotoxins
